Is McDonald's getting Discharged from Truman Medical Center in Kansas City?

Is this weird or what? A McDonald's has been located in a hospital in Kansas City.

That is right. McDonald's, known for its high fate fries and burgers has been located in Truman Medical Center. In the food court no less.

I guess the non-for-profit hospital felt it was cheaper to feed people Mickey D's food.

As the news started spreading about the fast food in a hospital and news that people, especially kids are getting fatter, the CEO of the hospital is expected to discharge the McDonald's soon.

The CEO is looking for healthier options. Hmm . . . I think I could come up with a billion options within an hour.

I'm a diabteic and I'm surprised that a hospital would even think of adding a fast food restaurant.

What do you think? Should Truman Medical Center keep the McDonald's or boot it out the door?

  1. Your comment “I guess the non-for-profit hospital felt it was cheaper to feed people Mickey D's food” is missing something. It’s missing the fact that before John came to be the CEO, a contract already existed renting that space for 30 years to McDonald’s. The embarrassing situation is that McDonald’s has fought tooth and nail to stay there. What’s even more embarrassing is the idea that John can even begin to be attacked when he is taking the campaign to get McDonald’s out public. It’s the current initiative of Truman Med that is a prime example of a hospital leading the way for healthier living. And as people feel it necessary to bring up unnecessary statistics about poverty and health problems, the cold hard fact is that Truman is “walking the walk” in its campaigns and initiatives to provide a healthier way of life for those in the community. The real question is: Who is going to follow Truman Med in this initiative to help pave the way for healthier communities? Who among other hospitals are going to follow Truman’s footsteps and start their own campaigns for a healthier community?

  2. The CEO was not attacked. I thought it was odd that a hospital would have a fast food restaurant in their food area.

Hope the hospital crushes McD's out of there. Hope more people choose healthier options.

  3. No too obvious of a TMC troll there.
