Kansas City Chiefs Will Introduce Their New Head Coach, Romeo Crennel, This Afternoon

Kansas City Chiefs Will Introduce Their New Head Coach, Romeo Crennel, This Afternoon

The Kansas City Chiefs will be introducing Romeo Crennel as their new head coach at a 1:00 p.m. this afternoon. The Chiefs and Crennel have agreed to 3 year contract. The Chiefs official release on Crennel's hire includes quotes from owner Clark Hunt and General Manager Scott Pioli.

Hunt: "We are very excited to name Romeo the new head coach of the Chiefs," Hunt said. "In 30 years as a coach in the National Football League, Romeo has established an outstanding track record of success, and we believe his experience and proven ability make him the best person to help us reach our goal of consistently competing for championships."

Pioli: "Romeo's vast experience and intelligence have helped him achieve success at the highest level. The way in which he creates accountability and respect amongst the team creates a very productive work environment and will be critical in continuing to develop our young core of players," Pioli said. "In addition, Romeo's extensive knowledge of our players, personnel, and needs make him a perfect fit to lead the Kansas City Chiefs."

How far will the 65 year old head coach lead the Kansas City Chiefs? Will they make the playoffs next year?

Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs Pro - Bowlers Tamba Hali and Derrick Johnson

Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs Pro- Bowlers Tamba Hali and Derrick Johnson

That is right. If you haven't heard, Tamba Hali and Derrick Johnson were selected to the Pro Bowl.

"We're excited about the news we heard yesterday that Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali were elected to the Pro Bowl," Crennel said, via NFLN. "It's an honor. Both guys have worked extremely hard in the class room, practice field and on the field. It's always nice to be recognized by the voters."

The Pro Bowl voters were made up equal parts of fans, coaches and players.

"Both men are appreciative of it," Crennel continued, "and they're appreciative of their teammates because they know they can't do it by themselves."

If you watched any KC Chiefs games this year, you would have seen both defensive players hustle on every play.

Congratulations Tamba and Derrick!

Romeo Crennel Should be #1 on the Kansas City Chiefs Head Coaching List

Romeo Crennel Should be #1 on the Kansas City Chiefs Head Coaching List

What a victory for the Kansas City Chiefs yesterday. With numerous starters gone, including the quarterback and the head coach fired, a massacre was almost predictable.

The KC Chiefs replaced Todd Haley with defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel. Romeo was in the running for the head coaching job. After yesterdays mastery and dismantling of previous unbeaten Green Bay Packers, Romeo may be in the leading candidate. Don't you agree?

Here are some areas the Kansas City Chiefs need to focus on after a 19-14 home victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday:

Biggest area to fix the Kansas City Chiefs: The KC Chiefs actually could have won this game by 21 points. but they had to settle for four field goals. Although they were just 1-for-5 in the red zone, It didn’t burn the Chiefs yesterday. More production is needed and I think another week with the Chiefs and Kyle Orton maybe more productive.

Biggest area to build on for the Kansas City Chiefs: The KC Chiefs controlled the best offense in the NFL yesterday. According to ESPN Stats & Information, the Chiefs attacked Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers with a stacked secondary. They used at least five defensive backs on 86 percent of the Packers’ plays Sunday. Rodgers completed 48.4 of his passes Sunday in those situations.

What to watch for with the Kansas City Chiefs: Kyle Orton had a nice thing going with his teammates in his first start with the Chiefs. He should be more comfortable Saturday against visiting the Oakland Raiders. Being from Denver, Kyle knows how much the Raiders are hated. Who could have guessed two months ago Orton would be starting for the Chiefs and Carson Palmer would be starting for the Raiders in this game?

Bottom-line for the Kansas City Chiefs:  They are not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

Lets go Chiefs!

Kansas University Football first Attracted Bishop Miege High School Coach, Now Player Tre Parmalee

Kansas University first hired Charlie Weis from Florida.
Charlie negotiated a good salary for the assistant coaches. The first coach Charlie hires was Tim Grunnard from Bishop Miege in Roeland Park, Kansas. Tim was the head football coach of the Miege Stags and a former Kansas City Chiefs football player. My Gardner Trailblazer's have played the Stags a couple times over the last couple years and I think Tim did a wonderful job representing the Stags. I always liked his demeanor on the sidelines.

Now that Tim is headed to Kansas University, he may have had some pull to get Tre Parmalee.
Tre Parmalee, a 5-foot-10, 160-pound receiver out of Bishop Miege High School, orally committed to the Kansas football team on Wednesday night.

Parmalee is the first commitment for new KU coach Charlie Weis. Parmalee picked KU after de-committing from Northern Illinois.
Tim Grunnard is the first hired and Tre Parmalee is the first commitment for KU.
I like the idea of getting some of the football talent from the area. This should be good to watch Tim and Tre on the KU sidelines, even though I'm a Kansas State Wildcat.

Is the Kansas City Chiefs Website in the Top 20 - Top Pro Football Related Websites

This afternoon I reviewed the marketwire stats for professional football-related websites. With all of the success the Kansas City Chiefs are having I was shocked to see that they didn't have a Top 20 visitor site.

Why do you think the KCChiefs.com website is not a Top 20 football-related website? It could be because the stats were taken before the recent success in September. It could also be that Kansas City is in a smaller market than some of the other professional football teams. It could also be because there are quite a few Chiefs sites and maybe if you add all of the visitors from all of the sites together, the number of unique visitors would be higher.

Another reason is that the Kansas City Chiefs have a poor website or don't promote the site. What do you think? Will the Kansas City Chiefs website, KCChiefs.com hit the Top 20?

Also, will the Kansas City Chiefs go 4-0?  After the bye week, the Chiefs have a tough game with the Indianapolis Colts.
