An Overland Park, Kan., man was arrested Friday in Belleville, Illinois on charges that he filed a false police report.
The Madison County State's Attorney's issued on Jan. 21 an arrest warrant with a $20,000 bond for Raymond C. Woods, 48.
Woods filed a report against an Illinois State Police trooper alleging misconduct during a previous arrest. Illinois Police said the allegations are false.
"The Illinois State Police does not tolerate misconduct by employees and thorough investigations are always conducted into allegations of such misconduct," District 11 Commander Jerry Culp stated in a news release. "At the same time, department employees must be protected against false allegations of misconduct."
The Overland Park man was arrested in the St. Clair County Building after he appeared in court for charges from a previous arrest. He has since posted bond and been released from the St. Clair County Jail.
