Labor Day 2019 is on Monday, September 2nd. Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers and is traditionally observed on the first Monday in September. It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894. Labor Day weekend also symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans and is celebrated with parties, street parades, and athletic events.

Seasonal Home Maintenance Checklist
- Check for plumbing leaks
- Replace any worn faucet washers
- Inspect all electrical cords, wall plates and plugs for damage and wear
- Check alarm systems (smoke and carbon monoxide) and make sure they are operating properly
- Make sure all GFCI plugs are functioning properly
- Replace HVAC filters
- Make sure attic is properly ventilated
- Clean dryer vent duct
- Walk around the home and inspect for critter intrusion
