It is Probably NOT the Best Time to Start a Gang in Kansas City

Why you ask?

Kansas City Police Chief Darryl Forté announced this week that the gang squad has doubled in size in effort to reduce violent crime.

The larger gang squad now will have two sergeants and 12 detectives. The additional resources will provide the city 24-hour coverage by gang experts on some days, the Kansas City Police Chief Forté said.

“They’ve been successful in apprehending homicide suspects and finding witnesses,” Forté said of the gang squad. “I knew we needed to put additional resources there.”
