Gardner, KS. Councilman gets charged by Johnson County DA's office Then Resigns from City Council

During the Nov. 21st Gardner, KS. city council meeting an altercation started between council members Dennis Pugh and Larry Fotovich. Most people thought the altercation ended when Dennis threatened Larry by saying that he would like to take Larry outside.

Dennis approached Larry at his residence in Southern Gardner and carried on like a 5th grader. First he put Larry in a headlock then took Larry's camera. The incident ended when the Gardner, KS. police arrived.

The Gardner police department wrote up a report for the Johnson County District Attorney's office. After reviewing the report, the DA's office has filed 2 charges against Dennis.

The charges may have prompted the resignation email that Dennis sent the Gardner, KS. mayor recently.

Dennis faces arraignment on Jan. 3rd 2012.

The odd part of this story is there are some people in Gardner that are apologizing for Dennis Pugh and say that Larry deserved to be beat up like a 5th grader on a playground.

What were the city council members fighting over? Whether or not to video the city council meetings. Larry I guess wants them video taped. Dennis, I guess we know why, didn't want them video taped.

It is believed that now that Dennis is gone, the council will start video taping the city council meetings.

I wonder if Dennis would have pulled off a couple 1-2's and a headlock if he was being video taped?
