Kansas City Renaissance Festival
The Kansas City Renaissance Festival offers a day like no other to eager visitors from across the Midwest. About 180,000 fans come to see the 16th century village each year where guests are invited to be a part of history whether it is learning a dance with the gypsies, (maybe Dan Henderson, Mr. KC Mortgage) assisting Bob the Incredible Juggler, shooting arrows with the infamous Black Archers or listening to Fairy Tales in the Enchanted Children's Realm.
"Dinosaurs Unearthed"
The exhibit will explore the theory, supported by fossil discoveries in 1996, that some dinosaurs had feathers and were ancestors to modern birds. Several of the animated models, including a juvenile T. rex, have feathers. The exhibit also has five life-size reproductions of articulated dino skeletons, including one 62 feet long, (will that fit in my basement?) and more than 40 other fossil reproductions.
Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
All-Stars Dwyane Wade and Kevin Durant will meet in Kansas City on Oct. 8 when the Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami HEAT tip off at Sprint Center. Fans will have an opportunity to welcome four alumni from the Big 12 Conference to Sprint Center including Mario Chalmers and Nick Collison of Kansas, Michael Beasley of Kansas State and Kevin Durant of Texas. Come watch Martin dunk at halftime!
The Beast Haunted House

Come and watch the riders ride the bulls. Arrive early for shopping and great food in the American Royal building. Chris Dowell will try his hand at bull riding!

2010 Rhythm & Ribs Jazz & Blues Festival
The 2010 Rhythm & Ribs Jazz and Blues Festival of Kansas City, presented by the American Jazz Museum, will feature multiple stages in the heart of the Jazz District within the walls and grounds of the award-winning American Jazz Museum. The artist lineup for 2010 will showcase the best of local and regional talent with a national headliner format.
Polar Bear Passage
Recreated glaciers, a large sandbox and open spaces along the banks create a Polar Bear Environment of Fun for digging, plunging and napping. This awesome Arctic adventure creates an interactive public connection to these magnificent northern species through above and below water viewing in the 140,000 gallon pool and a climate controlled viewing area with multiple viewing angles.
