Why Kansas City businesses should use Twitter to promote their business

Details: The Yahoo-Twitter Partnership:

A few months ago Twitter announced that their Twitter stream would show up on Google and Bing. In a few presentations to Kansas City business people I have shown how the Twitter streams are affecting Google searches. In addition, I have also shown how to view Twitter stream by using updates in the options menu.

Well if you are a Kansas City business and your not using Twitter, maybe this information will convince you to use Twitter.

First, Twitter is averaging 50 million tweets a day.

Second, Twitter is announcing that Twitter feeds will be updated on Yahoo. the three areas people will see Twitter on Yahoo are:

- Access to your Twitter feed on Yahoo: On Yahoo Mail, Sports, the homepage, and other Yahoo properties, you will be able to check the most recent tweets of your friends.

- Ability to update status from Yahoo: Yahoo will become a Twitter client, allowing you to update your status from multiple locations on Yahoo. We’re not sure if this is going to be through widgets or another method.

- Yahoo Search and media integration: Public Twitter updates will be integrated throughout Yahoo Search, News, Finance, and Entertainment, among other properties.

If you're a Kansas City business you should be tweeting specials, services, locations (if you have multiple locations) coupons, pics and industry specific news on a daily basis. Make sure you include your business name and web links.

If you need help with Twitter, be sure to come back to this blog. I will be posting some Twitter ideas for Kansas City businesses.
