"The Oscar folks decided for 2010 to expand the Best Picture category to 10 films, hoping to attract viewer interest by including the crowd favorites that often get shouldered aside for those that are more art-house fare.
AMC reacted, on one hand, with restraint by splitting the Best Picture Showcase over two, five-film weekends, beginning this Saturday and continuing March 6. For $30 a day or $60 for the pair, customers get a souvenir lanyard and all-you-can-eat popcorn. Locally, AMC Studio 30 in Olathe and AMC BarryWoods 24 in Kansas City are participating."
If It was on a regular weekday, I would probably take advantage of this Best Picture Showecase since I think I only saw one of the nominated movies. Since it is on the weekend, I will be helping Kansas City home buyers and with the tax credit ending soon, my team and I are busy right now.
