Kansas ranked 42nd out of the 50 states in keeping their native sons and daughters

According to a 2007 survey, only 47.9% of the native sons and daughters stay in Kansas after the age of 25. Many of the adults leave Kansas for higher education and then relocate to a job or they leave Kansas in young adulthood to find employment in a trade in another state.


Kansas ranked 42nd out of the 50 states in keeping their native sons and daughters. Looking at more recent data, the State of Kansas might be sliding a little more down the chart.
