Former Chiefs offensive lineman and current Olathe resident Will Shields, through his Will to Succeed Foundation, has launched a toy drive collecting new items to go to children at Operation Breakthrough.
The public can drop off new unwrapped toys, books and games until Dec. 21 at 68 Inside Sports, 11301 W. 88th St. in Overland Park.
Other items needed include: jeans and tops for girls, sizes 3-16 and boys, sizes 3-7; underwear for girls, sizes 4-6 and boys, sizes 4-8; socks for girls and boys in small and medium sizes.
“Christmas comes once a year for kids but some don’t get much of a holiday,” said Will Shields, the father of four. “We hope people will help provide something for a young person or a family that’s really in need.”
