Were the OSU Cowboys happy or was that an Earthquake? Do you need Earthquake Insurance in Kansas City?

Were the OSU Cowboys happy or was that an Earthquake? Do you need Earthquake Insurance in Kansas City?

During the Kansas State vs. OSU Cowboys football game the earth started to move. Most people in Kansas City probably didn't feel a thing and probably didn't know what the rumbling was until they watched the news or read the KC Star.

Yep, the news was reporting that an earthquake hit Oklahoma and could be felt as far away as Kansas City. During the tremors, I had just left a friends home in Eudora and was on my way back home. I was on an old country road when the tremors could be felt. At first I thought it was the wind. My wife got on Facebook because she thought it was something bigger than the wind. She started reading the status updates and the word earthquake kept popping up.

When I got home I watched the national news and the reporting of the damage. The news reports of the significant damage that many homemowners in the Oklahoma area sustained and I wondered if they have earthquake insurance.

Since the earthquake could be felt in Kansas City, Olathe and Overland Park, was there damage there also. Although the news reported no damage in Kansas City, what happened if there was? Do people in Kansas City have earthquake insurance?

If you live in Gardner, Olathe, Overland Park, Leawood, Lenexa, Shawnee or Kansas City; here is a great link leading to an article about earthquake insurance.
