Wall Street Journal calls Kansas City a leader in Information Technology
The Wall Street Journal calls Kansas City a leader in Information Technology. The Wall Street Journal probably chose Kansas City because of a few developments.
First, tech companies, Cerner and Garmin, chose to expand in Kansas City. Cerner is building a new office in the Kansas City Legends area and Garmin expended its headquarters in Olathe.
Next StartUpDigest.com named Kansas City the 3rd fastest growing startup community in the world. The designation came after Kansas City had a 22.97% entrepreneur growth rate. Much of the growth has been in small technology companies.
Third, Google chose Kansas City out of 1300 communities to install its Google Fiber. The Google Fiber is expected to be 100 times faster than current broadband.
Kansas City may need to drop off its old name "Cowtown" and start promoting its new title "Leader in Information Technology."
