With a Metropolitan population of 2,066,732 and a Median Household Income Average of $55,409, Kansas City, according to a Kiplinger, had an income growth of 6.4% from 2005 to 2009.  

With 100 being average, the Cost of Living Index for the Kansas City Metropolitan area is slightly below at 99.
