Olathe, Kansas Police Department Traffic Unit issue 130 tickets in recent Saturation Patrol

The Olathe, KS. Police Department Traffic Unit on May 5 conducted a Saturation Patrol as part of it's ongoing commitment to improving traffic safety by focusing on compliance with the state law regarding the use of seat belts and restraint devices for children.

Wearing a seatbelt is the single most important thing that motorists can do to reduce chances of being involved in a fatality crash, and reducing the severity of injury that might be sustained in other types of vehicle crashes.

Compliance with seat belt laws not only reduces injury to motorists involved in motor vehicle crashes, it also reduces the overall cost impact, of motor vehicle crashes, to all members of society through reduced insurance premiums and time away from work due to recuperation from injury.
