Johnson County, Kansas first quarter residential building permits provide mixed report - Johnson County Real Estate

Building permit reports present a mixed view of first-quarter construction activity in Johnson County.

While some of the growth cities showed gains in housing and commercial construction projects, permit totals indicated the opposite was happening elsewhere.
Through the first three months of the year, Overland Park and Lenexa registered notable gains in residential construction permit activity while figures dropped in Olathe and Shawnee.
The Olathe decline was particularly significant because the city had become the county’s leader in home building in recent years.
