Grant brings second robot to Overland Park Police Department

Thanks to a $250,000 federal Homeland Security grant, Overland Park police will obtain the squat iRobot as well as seven other pieces of new equipment that include a surveillance camera system, bomb suit and helmet, and radio and computer gear.

The new robot will join one other larger unit that has been on the job for about four years. It, too, came courtesy of a Homeland Security grant.
