Kansas City New Home Starts Rose 20% - Checkout the Fall Parade of Homes

New-home starts in Kansas City rose 20 percent from July and 10 percent from a year before, as reported by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City for August 2010.

The pickup in permit activity followed a July that had put an end to eight straight months of year-to-year gains.

Kansas City led top-permitting cities with 344. Olathe was second with 250, then Overland Park with 146 and Lee’s Summit with 117.

The Fall Parade of Homes started during the weekend and lasts through Oct. 17. It offers opportunities to explore a variety of homes and find out about new developments in residential construction, the HBA said.
