Johnson County Real Estate Inventory - The True Number of Homes For Sale

I just checked out a dozen real estate agent websites. Some were from Reece and Nichols, others from Prudential, a few more from Keller Williams and yes a couple from RE/MAX. They all had a different count for the number of homes that were available for sale in Johnson County, Kansas. Some had as few as 13,043 homes for sale and some had as many as 26,932 homes for sale.

Now, I understand that no 2 real estate agent websites will have the exact number. The real estate inventory changes daily and depending on the day and time, the number of homes for sale will fluctuate.

I'll use the actual real estate numbers that are published by the Heartland Multiple Listing Service or HMLS. The HMLS services greater Kansas City.

In August, there were 20,300 homes for sale. Twenty four percent of the Kansas City Metropolitan inventory came from Johnson County. During the month of August there were 4,289 homes listed. Twenty six percent of the new listing inventory came from Johnson County, Kansas.

Major cities in Johnson County, Kansas are Olathe, Overland Park, Gardner, Leawood, Lenexa, Shawnee, Prairie Village and Mission, Kansas.
