Johnson County, despite its affluence, is not immune. A Salvation Army family shelter in Olathe has seen its waiting list jump to more than 80. The Shawnee Mission School District, considered one of the wealthiest in Kansas, counted 227 homeless students in January."

In recent years there have been 15 million new homeless people added. Many thought that they would never be homeless.
Now with people losing their equity in their homes, People don't have money to pull out of their home by refinancing nor the ability to sell and keep the equity. I think more people will become homeless faster in 2010 if the housing market doesn't turn around.
