According to ComScore, Twitter has increased its unique visitors by 9% from December to January 2010. The main source, if not all, of the increase of traffic is Google according to Hitwise.
Google introduced real time search in December and entered into an agreement with Twitter to show updates called tweets. Google will show tweets from trendy queries.
I have noticed that Twitter traffic has increased in Kansas City and the interest in attending Twitter seminars and tweetups (similar to a meetup) has increased the past 3 months.
A restaurant in Virgina and a business in Texas have discovered ways to increase their business sales by 50%. These same results can be achieved in Kansas City by utilizing a social media plan.
If you need help developing a social media plan that includes Twitter, maybe we should talk. I know some people I can get you connected with here in Kansas City.
