8.8 earthquake hits Chile - Tsunami maybe heading to Hawaii- Chile earthquake: 'Everyone fears aftershocks'

A massive earthquake with a magnitude of 8.8 has hit central Chile, killing at least 64 people, ministers say. More are feared dead.

The quake struck at 0634 GMT about 115km (70 miles) north-east of the city of Concepcion and 325km south-west of the capital, Santiago.
President Michelle Bachelet declared a 'state of catastrophe' in affected areas and appealed for calm.

Two major aftershocks of 6.2 and 6.8 have hot Chile since the massive earthquake. There are also concerns of a tsunami hitting Hawaii. Hawaii is under a tsunami advisory.

Earlier Friday a earthquake hit Japan.
