Question: My listing agent asked for a $1,200 upfront fee to be returned when my home in Olathe sells. Is this a common practice?

Answer: There is no common practice with commissions or fees. Each real estate office has their own requirement. Since there is a lot of upfront cost and time involved, I expect this practice to increase. If you are not comfortable with it, Chad, I would explore other Olathe real estate agents.
