How can you use Social Media Sites like Facebook, Google Plus, and Twitter to Find Your Next Home in Kansas City?

How can you use Social Media Sites like Facebook and Twitter to Find Your Next Home in Kansas City?
Many home buyers may feel that they have gotten a raw deal on a home that they have lived in the past. Maybe you have also. You had the annoying neighbor, the city officials who were a joke, the road crews who seemed to nap and the parks and rec who was disorganized.
It used to be that you couldn’t find much information on a city, school district or  neighborhood other than from the school district and local Chamber of Commerce. And, of course, their opinions are slightly biased, aren't they.
I mean how many school districts will tell you how many kids dropped out, how many kids are truant and what the community really think of their schools.
In addition, the local Chamber of Commerce will not post information that will be negative for the city and local business.
You get it, right? They're all in the business to paint a rosy picture.
Kansas City home buyers can gain A new way of looking for homes by utilizing social networking sites like Facebook, Google Plus and Twitter.
Searching for homes through social networking is still in its infancy but is gaining slowly. It is still easier to use a home finder tool from a Kansas City real estate agent. The whole idea is to talk to people, from all walks of life in various communities, including the ones you are interested in moving to in the near future. That way you get more than one opinion and you just may find an awesome deal in places you never thought of.
You can find things out about a neighborhood like the schooling, crime rate for the area and if the area has good shopping locations. I'm not talking about the posted material, but real life data from residents in the community. Most of us lean away from neighborhoods that the news portrays as bad. That is only natural, especially when you have children. But the media is not always right and you may find a good neighborhood tucked away in an area with a bad reputation. A lot of times these homes will be less expensive than you think because of the neighborhood.
Some communities are very big and a small portion of the community maybe giving the whole community a bad rap.
I'll give an example. I had a relo buyer wanting Northern Overland Park. They did not want the Shawnee Mission West high school area because of what they heard. After a little investigation, the couple bought a home in the Shawnee Mission West high school area. That was 15 years ago and the family loves their neighborhood. Kids were happy and now are off on their own.
Another example: I had a home buyer who had to stay in Missouri. They only wanted Blue Springs or Lee's Summit. They found a home in South Raytown. After hearing a few gossip stories, they decided against it. They dug more into it and decided that maybe South Raytown would be great. 12 years later that still love their neighborhood.
So, use your Facebook, Google Plus, or Twitter accounts to get the word out about where you would like to live and ask for comments. Just be careful of giving out exact information. You never know who may be reading it. Don’t let that scare you off, though. All it takes is a little caution and social networking is the place to find some really good locations.
Speak with a Kansas City real estate after you have done your research through the social networking sites. Let them know what you have found out. Most of them would be willing to work with you about a specific location.
