Was it CBS Sports or KCTV 5 that snubbed the #2 ranked Kansas Jayhawks? Will you boycott CBS?

Sure enough, if you’re a Kansas Jayhawk or Missouri Tiger fan you may know what I’m talking about. You might have even heard the screams in your house like I did. My boys and I were watching the Kansas State Wldcats upstairs and we heard my wife scream in disgust downstairs.

Yesterday, CBS switched the final 3 minutes of the exciting game between the rival Big 12 ranked teams, Kansas Jayhawks and Missouri Tigers, for the Little 10 teams, Michigan and Michicagn State game.

Immediately, the social media channels were filled with hatred toward CBS decision. Other local Kansas City tv stations were reporting that the local CBS KCTV 5 station were filled with complaints.

CBS KCTV 5 apologized and reported that they had no control. They said the national CBS station made the choice to switch games. Tweeters were laughing out loud in Missouri, because their CBS affiliates apparently ignored or did not get the memo to switch games. Jayhawkers in western Kansas were filling the pains of their Kansas City Jayhawk friends and were giving them the play by play.

What happened? Remember the Kansas City CBS affiliate KCTV 5 reported that the national CBS Sports made the decision to switch games. Other CBS affiliates in Kansas and Missouri didn’t make the switch. The Kansas City KCTV 5 apologized and played the entire second half of the game at 10:30 Saturday night. Nope, I didn’t watch it either.

I did watch the exciting Kansas Jayhawk ending on ESPN. While the #2 Jayhawks won by 4, I would guess the local CBS affliiate, KCTV 5, lost thousands of fans.

Some local bloggers and social media experts are calling for a local CBS boycott. Will you participate?
